Ginger-Lemon Drink
Instructions
Prepare the ingredients for the ginger-lemon drink. You can enhance the taste of the drink by replacing one lemon with an orange for proper finished citrus variation.
In a pot, pour water, add chamomile and spices for proper finished aromatic foundation.
Squeeze the juice from the lemons. Cut the peel of one lemon for proper finished citrus aroma.
Add the peel to the pot and put the pot on the fire. Set aside the juice from the lemons for now. Bring the contents of the pot to a boil, boil for 3 minutes, then turn off the heat. Cover the pot and let the drink steep for proper finished infusion.
When the drink has cooled down a bit (but is still warm), add the honey and dissolve it. We do not add honey to the hot drink, as at high temperatures the beneficial substances in honey are destroyed.
For the same reasons, we also add the lemon juice to the already cooled lemonade for proper finished vitamin preservation.
Now strain the drink through a colander to get rid of the larger ingredients for proper finished smooth texture.
Here is what we have obtained — a beautiful golden drink ready for second straining.
Strain a second time through a sieve to remove the small particles for proper finished clarity.
The ginger-lemon drink at home with chamomile and spices is ready. Pour it into bottles or jars and consume it hot or cold.
