What affects the calorie value
Avocado contains more fat than many fresh fruits, so a small-looking serving can contribute a substantial amount of energy. This card contains no added oil, sauce or other ingredients.
Fruit size and seed proportion vary. Two similar-looking halves may have different edible weights. A half containing 70 g of flesh provides 112 kcal; one containing 100 g provides 160 kcal.
The record covers commercial varieties rather than a separate analysis of Hass avocados. Variety, ripeness and growing conditions can affect composition. For packaged flesh, prefer the manufacturer label.
Vitamins and minerals per 100 g
Values come from the same USDA records. They show the amount in the food, not a percentage of an individual daily requirement.
| Nutrient | Raw flesh, without skin or seed |
|---|---|
| Potassium, mg | 485 |
| Magnesium, mg | 29 |
| Folate, µg | 81 |
| Vitamin K, µg | 21 |
| Vitamin C, mg | 10 |
| Vitamin B6, mg | 0.26 |
How to calculate more accurately
Put a bowl on the scales and tare them. Add only the flesh you intend to eat, then enter that weight. Do not use the weight of the unpeeled fruit.
For toast or a salad, transfer the avocado to the calculator and add bread, egg, cheese and dressing separately. A mixed dish should not be counted as a serving of plain avocado.
This flesh contains 6.7 g fibre per 100 g, already included in the USDA total carbohydrate value of 8.53 g. If your diary uses another carbohydrate definition, check it before transferring values.
Common questions
How many calories are in half an avocado?
Multiply the flesh weight in grams by 1.6. For example, 70 g gives 112 kcal. There is no universal weight for a half.
How many calories are in a whole avocado without the seed?
It depends on the peeled flesh weight. A 140 g serving gives 224 kcal and a 200 g serving gives 320 kcal. These weights are examples, not standard fruit sizes.
Why do avocado calorie tables differ?
References may describe different varieties and samples. The source, edible portion and food state are specified here so the values can be compared.
Can this card be used for guacamole?
Use it only for the avocado flesh. Enter onion, tomato, lime juice and other sauce ingredients separately, then use the final yield.
