The best sweet preparation for winter, which preserves the taste, color, aroma, and most importantly – all the vitamins – is black currant with sugar without cooking. It seems like a simple recipe, but it hides some pitfalls, and not knowing them, the preserve may not last until the next harvest due to berry fermentation.

- This preparation must be stored in the refrigerator. It can be kept in either glass or plastic food containers – the main thing is that they are well processed with boiling water or steam.
- Before pureeing, the berries must be thoroughly dried (you can even use a hairdryer for this).
- After adding sugar, the mixture is not immediately distributed into jars, but left for about 8 hours in a cool place so that all the sugar dissolves completely and the currants gel slightly.

- Gather the ingredients. Measure the sugar after sorting the currants. And also – it’s better to start working in the evening, as the sugar sprinkled on the berries must dissolve completely (this takes about 8 hours). And in the summer night, it’s not as hot in the room as during the day, and the preparation can safely be left on the balcony or veranda.
- Fill the prepared dry container with the sweet jam. It can be closed with plastic or screw-on lids, after which the preparations should be placed on a shelf in the refrigerator. They can last until the next harvest and even longer.
In winter, black currant with sugar without cooking will be a great help for the hostess. It can be used to layer cakes, fill pies, enhance pancakes, and simply spread on bread for tea. With such a preparation, various drinks are excellent – it’s enough to dilute the jam in water or complement it with a fruit mix in compote.
