Cucumber lemonade at home

Cucumber Lemonade at Home

Write a comment

In essence, the name "Lemonade" signifies that the base is lemon. This concept has already become irrelevant, and many prepare such a drink from oranges, currants, strawberries, mint, and even cucumber lemonade at home.

Fermentation of Ivan Tea

Fermentation of Ivan-tea (the simplest method)

Write a comment
Fermenting Ivan chai (fireweed) is a remarkable and at the same time simple home process that significantly improves the flavor, aroma and beneficial properties of this wonderful Russian drink. It's exactly during the work of natural enzymes inside the leaves that the rich aroma, pleasant honeyed note and bright amber color develop, and the beneficial compounds become more bioavailable. Sort fresh-picked fireweed leaves and lightly wilt in the air for 4-6 hours until they lose their crispness. Then crush them in your hands or run them through a meat grinder to break down the cells. Place in an enamel or glass container, cover with a damp cloth and leave in a warm spot (24-26°C / 75-79°F) for 6-12 hours until a characteristic floral-fruit aroma appears. Dry in the oven at 50-60°C (120-140°F) for about an hour. Full conditions inside.

Cherry compote for winter (without sterilization)

Cherry compote for winter (without sterilization)

Write a comment
Cherry compote is the easiest and fastest way to capture the taste of summer cherries for the whole winter, and this no-sterilization version saves a step without sacrificing reliability. The triple-pour method does all the work: pour cherries into a sterilized 3-liter jar, cover with boiling water for 10 minutes, drain the water back into a pot, heat it with sugar to a boil and pour the hot syrup back over the cherries. Seal immediately with a sterilized lid and flip upside down to cool. Leaving the pits in adds a subtle almond aroma. For a 3-liter jar use 2.5 cups of cherries and 1 cup of sugar. Storage and serving tips inside.

Red currant compote with mint for winter

Red Currant Compote with Mint for Winter

Write a comment
Red currant and mint compote is a vibrant, refreshing and incredibly fragrant summer drink preserved for winter. Red currants give the compote its beautiful ruby color and pleasant tartness, while fresh mint leaves add a subtle cool note that makes the flavor especially interesting and unexpected. The recipe uses the simple single-pour method into sterilized 3-liter jars: layer currants and mint sprigs in the jar, pour over hot sugar syrup and seal immediately — no extra sterilization needed. For a 3-liter jar use 2 cups of currants, 5-7 mint leaves and 1 cup of sugar. Serve chilled in winter for a juice-like refreshment that tastes of summer.

Strawberry compote

Strawberry Compote for Winter (without Sterilization)

Write a comment
Strawberry compote for winter without sterilization is a simple, quick and remarkably fragrant homemade preserve that beautifully keeps the natural strawberry flavor and deep ruby color even after long storage. It's one of the easiest preserves with minimal effort — no need to sterilize jars in a pot of water, no long boiling, and yet the result is always reliably excellent. The main secret is the double pouring of boiling water and sugar syrup, which naturally sterilizes the berries and jars while the strawberries hold their shape. Sort large ripe strawberries, gently rinse them and pack tightly into sterilized 3-liter jars to about a third full. Pour over boiling water for 10-15 minutes, drain back into a pot, add sugar, bring to a boil and pour back. Seal and turn upside down to cool completely. Proportions for a 3-liter jar inside.

Red currant compote (without sterilization)

Red Currant Compote (No Sterilization)

Write a comment
Red currant compote for winter is a vibrant, aromatic and wonderfully healthful drink with bright tartness and a beautiful ruby color. Red currants are loaded with vitamin C and natural antioxidants, so this compote isn't just tasty — it actively supports your immune system through the cold months. I use the simple single-pour method into sterilized 3-liter jars: tip the berries in (with or without stems, your choice), pour over hot sugar syrup and seal immediately — no extra sterilization needed. For a 3-liter jar use 2-3 cups of berries and 1.5 cups of sugar. The result is a rich, sweet-tart drink you can enjoy straight or diluted like a juice. Storage and proportions inside.

Kiwi and banana smoothie

Kiwi and Banana Smoothie in a Blender

Write a comment
Kiwi and banana smoothie in a blender is proof that wholesome food can be remarkably tasty and bright. It's an ideal quick vitamin-rich breakfast or healthy snack that comes together in just 5 minutes and fully charges you with energy for the whole day. The main ingredients — fresh kiwi (a source of vitamin C, twice as much as in an orange) and ripe banana (a source of potassium, magnesium and slow carbohydrates) — create a remarkably balanced drink with a pleasant sweet-tart flavor and a beautiful gentle green color. Cube peeled kiwi and banana and place in the blender cup. Add a little yogurt or milk (dairy or plant-based), honey to taste and optionally a handful of spinach leaves for an even richer color and nutrition. Blend to a smooth creamy mass for 30-60 seconds. Proportions for 2 servings inside.
