Ingredients
- pearl barley – 300 g;
- purified water – 800 ml;
- salt – 1 tsp without a slide.
Preparation
1. Prepare the ingredients for making pearl barley porridge in water in a multicooker. In this example, a TEFAL multicooker is used, but the actions specified in the recipe should be performed sequentially in exactly the same way on devices from other manufacturers.

2. Rinse the groats thoroughly several times until the water becomes clear.

3. Transfer the clean grains to the multicooker bowl and level them out.

4. Carefully pour in the water.

5. Immediately add salt and close the lid of the multicooker.

6. Set the program. Any product type can be selected - in this case, it does not matter, since the time will be programmed manually. Next, move the arrow to the "Stewing" process and set the cooking duration (that is - time) - 1 hour and 30 minutes. Press the start button.

7. These one and a half hours can be spent on other tasks - the multicooker will do all the work itself, it does not need to be monitored. At the end of the process, a signal will sound, after which you should press the "Reset program" button (that is, "Stop") and open the lid. If the multicooker is not turned off, it will automatically switch to the warming mode and will keep the porridge warm for another half hour, and then turn off by itself.

8. The porridge turned out tender, and its grains are soft and easily separate from each other.

Such pearl barley porridge in water in a multicooker is suitable for breakfast. You should only add a piece of butter and some vegetables for a richer taste. If a lean menu is being prepared, then instead of butter, the porridge can be dressed with vegetable sauté in vegetable oil. In both options, it is very delicious.
