
Ranch sauce
The original American ranch sauce is very popular on its continent. It is the best-selling dressing for various salads, vegetables, and even chips. The original sauce includes buttermilk – it's the byproduct of processing butter or cream. In our region, real buttermilk is hardly found in stores, so it is replaced with medium-fat sour cream or natural yogurt. The second ingredient is mayonnaise (in the American version, its fat content is quite high at 82%, but in our case, 72% will be sufficient).
After mixing these two bases, the sauce is seasoned with chives (this variety is characterized by thin green feathers – they can be replaced with regular onion feathers, finely chopped). Parsley, garlic salt, and ranch are added.

Ingredients
- sour cream 15% – 100 g;
- mayonnaise 72% – 100 g;
- green onion – bunch;
- parsley – bunch;
- garlic salt – 1/2 tsp;
- black freshly ground pepper – to taste.
Preparation
1. Prepare the ingredients. The bunch of green onion should be of such size that it is enough in chopped form for 3 tablespoons. You should get 2 tablespoons of parsley. If there is no ready-made garlic salt at home, it can easily be made by mixing 1/4 teaspoon of fine salt with the same amount of dried garlic.

2. Mix the sour cream and mayonnaise in a small bowl.

3. Chop the green onion feathers as finely as possible.

4. Add them, measuring 3 tablespoons, to the bowl with the mixture. Stir.

5. Chop the parsley in the same manner.

6. Add two tablespoons of it to the overall mixture.

7. Add the garlic salt and, if desired, a little freshly ground black pepper.

8. After mixing, you will have a thick and very aromatic mixture.

9. Now, all that remains is to put the ranch sauce in the refrigerator and keep it there for at least half an hour, after which it can be used at your discretion. For example, it's very pleasant to sit in front of the television, crunching on a slice of fresh cucumber, asparagus, or carrot, which are enhanced by the aromatic sauce. Ordinary bread and chips are no less enjoyable than the vegetables.
