Zucchini Pizza in the Oven
For a summer snack, zucchini pizza in the oven is the perfect choice. The vegetable dough, made almost entirely from zucchini, wonderfully replaces the usual flour base made from yeast dough. You can fill the pizza in the classic way – with sausage, tomatoes, cheese. Instead of sausage, you can use hot dogs, ham, or minced meat (it’s important that it is pre-fried).
Yield: 1 pizza with a diameter of 28 centimeters.
Cooking time: 45 minutes.
Calorie content: 130 kcal per 100 grams of the dish.
Ingredients
- zucchini – 560 g;
- sour cream – 50 g;
- baking powder – 1 tsp;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- hot dogs – 2 pcs. (80 g);
- hard cheese – 150 g;
- garlic – 2 small cloves;
- salt – 0.5 tsp;
- flour (all-purpose) – 110 g;
- parsley, dill – a bunch;
- tomatoes – 1-2 pcs.
Preparation
1. Prepare the ingredients for making zucchini pizza in the oven. You can use both young and old zucchini; just peel the latter beforehand. Any fat content of sour cream will do.

2. Since the pizza preparation process goes very quickly, you can turn on the oven to preheat to 200 degrees. Grate the zucchini coarsely (young ones – with the skin). Salt the zucchini shavings – let it sit and release juice. You don’t need to squeeze anything out – the moisture, combined with the subsequent ingredients, will be useful as a binding element.

3. Cut small tomatoes into rings and large ones into wedges.

4. Slice the hot dogs into rounds.

5. Chop the herbs finely.

6. Grate the cheese coarsely.

7. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder.

8. Now you can return to the zucchini. Add the eggs to them.

9. Then add the sour cream and the herbs.

10. Sift the flour mixture into the combined ingredients.

11. Combine everything into a single mass so that there are no dry and unmixed areas. The dough should be thick. If the zucchini is very watery and the resulting mixture spreads, add a little more flour.

12. Squeeze the garlic in as well. Mix everything once more.

13. Prepare the baking dish. It’s convenient to use a detachable ring for such a pizza. It should be wrapped in foil, securing baking paper underneath. Grease the sides of the ring with vegetable oil.

14. Fill the form with the zucchini dough. Smooth it out.

15. Spread the tomatoes on the surface.

16. The empty spaces will be filled with hot dogs.

17. Sprinkle all the filling with cheese. Place the preparation on the middle level of the oven.

18. After about 35 minutes, the zucchini dough will turn golden brown at the edges, and the top will be covered with melted cheese – that means the zucchini pizza in the oven is ready and can be taken out of the oven.

The pizza has a very delicate texture, so it should rest for a few minutes before removing the form and transferring it to a plate. Basil leaves will not only decorate this summer pizza but also add freshness. Notably, this snack is very delicious both hot and cold, which is important in hot weather.

Give it a try, bon appétit!
