How pleasant it is in winter cold to treat yourself to a cup of incredibly fragrant tea with pink petal jam. Aromatic pink jam is not only a delicacy. It has some healing properties. This jam promotes the faster healing of wounds on the oral mucosa and is also used for colds.

Ingredients

  • rose petals - 100 g;
  • citric acid - 1 tsp without a slide (5 g);
  • sugar - ½ cup (100 g).

For the syrup:

  • water - 1 cup;
  • sugar - 500 g.

Preparation

  1. Place the necessary products for making the jam on the table.

  2. Cut off the blossomed buds of the tea rose early in the morning. After bringing the flowers home, immediately start preparing them. First, remove the petals from the rose buds. Cut the petals so that their hard white tips remain on the receptacle, which we throw away. Spread the petals on a flat surface for a while to get rid of insects that may be in the flowers. Then rinse the rose petals with clean cool water, leave them in a colander (to drain excess moisture), and shake them several times.

  3. Pour 100 g of sugar into the bowl with the rose petals, and mash everything together with a pestle or your hands. Leave the mixture in the bowl while we prepare the syrup.

  4. Mix sugar with water and put in a cooking pot over the fire, letting it boil for a couple of minutes. Remove the foam that forms on the syrup.

  5. Add the sugar-petal mixture to the syrup and stir. Boil the jam, stirring, for 10 minutes.

  6. Add citric acid, then boil for another 5 minutes. The freshly made pink jam may seem liquid, but during storage, it will thicken more, and the syrup in it will become thicker and more viscous.

  7. Sterilize the jar and lid for the jam. Fill the jar with the jam and seal it tightly. Place the jar upside down, leaving it in this position for 30 minutes. Then return the jar to its normal position and store it in a dark place.
