
Lentil soup with smoked meats
Quick to prepare, thick and hearty, with a special aroma, lentil soup with smoked meats satisfies hunger for a long time and serves as a wonderful lunch dish for the whole family. Lentils have numerous beneficial properties, they are tasty and nutritious, and dishes made from them can be prepared literally in one breath.
Any smoked meats will work for this recipe: sausage or its remnants of different kinds, any parts of chicken, or pork ribs. The main thing is that all these products are smoked.

Ingredients
- red lentils – 250 g;
- serevalat – 250 g;
- hunting sausages – 200 g;
- potatoes – 350 g;
- carrots – 80 g;
- white onion – 60 g;
- olive oil – 45 g;
- butter – 20 g;
- smoked paprika – 1 tsp;
- coriander – 1 tsp;
- thyme – a pinch;
- salt, pepper;
- hot water – 1.5 l.
Cooking instructions
1. Prepare the ingredients. Red lentils can be replaced with green – the technological process will remain unchanged. If the sausage has an edible casing, it should not be removed, just rinse the sausage under running water. Thyme is the same as savory. If desired, it can be used both fresh and dried.

2. Immediately place a pot with olive oil on the stove.

3. While it heats up, finely chop the potatoes (to cook faster).

4. Add them to the pot.

5. At this moment, you can get distracted and chop the carrots and onion into small cubes.

6. When the smell of fried potatoes appears, they should be stirred.

7. Immediately send the freshly chopped vegetables to them.

8. Place a piece of butter on top – it will give the dish a creamy taste. Do not add any more fat, as smoked sausage will also release some fat.

9. In the meantime, chop the sausage into cubes or slices (hunting sausages).

10. As soon as it is chopped, transfer it to the pot.

11. Mix all the ingredients.

12. Rinse the lentils.

13. Pour them into the main pot.

14. Mix everything again. Add spices and seasonings if desired.

15. Immediately pour in the water. The thickness of the soup can be adjusted at this moment, but it should not be made too watery – lentil soup should be thick. Therefore, one and a half liters of boiling water is enough for this amount.

16. As soon as the water is poured in, foam will start to form – it needs to be removed with a spoon or slotted spoon.

17. Salt the soup to taste, keeping in mind that the smoked meats are already salty.

18. Let it simmer covered on the lowest heat for 15 minutes. As a result, the soup turns out thick and fragrant, just as it should be.

19. Lentil soup with smoked meats is ready. It is served only hot. It goes well with sour cream, fresh herbs, and toasted white bread.
