Orange lemonade

To avoid purchasing store-bought drinks (both quality and not so much) during the hot season, you can make refreshing orange lemonade at home. This homemade drink consists entirely of natural ingredients, of which there are only two – 2 oranges and 1 lemon. Of course, you also need water and sugar. But in the end, you will have more than three liters of invigorating, sweet and sour natural lemonade that not only refreshes and tones but also improves your mood.

Yield: 12 servings (3 liters and 150 ml of lemonade).

Preparation time: 20 minutes + 4 hours to freeze the fruits and infuse the drink.

Calorie content: 30 kcal per 100 grams of the dish.

Ingredients

  • boiled chilled water – 3 l;
  • lemon – 1 pc;
  • orange – 2 pcs;
  • sugar – 250 g.

Preparation

1. Prepare the ingredients for making lemonade from fresh oranges. If you do not want to boil water, you can use purified bottled water, which does not require boiling. The lemon can be replaced with 1 teaspoon of citric acid, but then you will need more oranges – 3 pieces. The amount of sugar is calculated for a moderate sweet and sour taste.

2. Since the citrus fruits will not undergo thermal processing, and the whole fruit along with the peel is used for the drink, they should be thoroughly washed. For this, pour about 2 liters of water into a bowl with the citrus fruits and add a teaspoon of baking soda.

3. Add a tablespoon of 9% vinegar and let the fruits sit in this solution for about 10 minutes, as it breaks down all fats, removes dirt, and kills bacteria.

5. To get rid of any possible bitterness present in the peel, the fruits should be frozen by placing them in the freezer for at least 2 hours.

11. After this time, the drink needs to be strained. It is best to use a piece of cheesecloth folded in 2 layers as a sieve. Start filtering the lemonade in small portions.
