Baked pumpkin with honey

Autumn is the time for warm blankets and hot tea, and to brighten up the cold days, it's essential to prepare dishes from pumpkin. These can be various pumpkin salads, stews, and other main courses, as well as desserts. One of my favorite desserts is baked pumpkin with honey. The recipe is incredibly simple, but the result is just as wonderful. Slices of tender, juicy pumpkin soaked in sweet honey, smelling of fragrant cinnamon – it’s simply unimaginable! This dessert perfectly replaces any cookies and other sweets for tea, which will positively impact your figure and bring only benefits to your body.

This dish consists of just a few ingredients. Besides pumpkin, there is honey, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Thanks to them, the pumpkin becomes truly tasty and fall-aromatic. After making baked pumpkin in the oven with honey, you'll realize that cinnamon goes perfectly not only with apples but also with pumpkin.

  • honey - 2 tablespoons;
  • vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon;
  • cinnamon - 0.5 teaspoon;
  • lemon juice - 1 tablespoon;
  • sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon;

Preparation

  1. Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Choose sweet varieties of pumpkin, the Muscat pumpkin is ideal – it is very aromatic, soft, and cooks quickly.

  2. Cut the pumpkin into slices about 7-10 mm thick. However, in essence, you can cut the pumpkin into pieces of any size, from very small, “one-bite” pieces to larger ones. The size of the pieces will influence the cooking time.

  3. Mix the vegetable oil, liquid honey, and cinnamon, stir.

  4. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, lay out the pumpkin slices, brush with the prepared aromatic honey mixture, and drizzle with lemon juice.

  5. Bake the pumpkin in the oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes, but this depends on the size of the pieces, the variety of pumpkin, and the oven itself, so keep an eye on it and don’t miss when the pumpkin pieces become soft.

  6. Sprinkle the finished pumpkin slices with sesame seeds. You can pre-roast them in a dry skillet.
