The tastiest apricot compote for winter for a 3-liter jar can be easily prepared using the proposed recipe. These bright fleshy fruits, like the drink itself, will bring much joy during the cold season. Only sugar and citric acid are used as reliable preservatives for sealing.

Ingredients
- apricots – 500 g;
- white sugar – 200 g;
- citric acid – 1/3 tsp;
- purified water – 2.5 l.
Preparation
1. Prepare the ingredients for making apricot compote for winter. Choose apricots that are not overripe, without rotten spots. Slightly unripe fruits are also suitable – in this case, the amount of sugar should be increased to 300 grams.

2. Immediately wash the jar for sealing with soda and sterilize it in the usual way, for example, in the oven. To do this, place the wet jar in a cold oven and turn the heating on to 150 degrees. After reaching the specified temperature, 10 minutes of heating will be sufficient. Boil the lid for 3 minutes on the stove.

3. Carefully wash the fruits thoroughly, taking care not to deform the outer skin. Then place them in a colander to remove moisture.

4. Open the apricot halves and remove the pit.

5. Fill the jar with the blanks by 1/3 or a little more.

6. Boil the water and pour it into the jar, just enough to cover the bottom. Due to the temperature difference, the jar may crack, so boiling water should be poured gradually, waiting for the upper walls of the jar to warm up.

7. Then add a little more boiling water and wait for a minute again.

8. And finally, fill the jar to the very top.

9. Cover with a sterile lid, then with a towel and leave in this state for half an hour.

10. Next, drain the water into a saucepan and boil it again. It’s convenient to use a special lid with holes for draining, so that the fruits do not fall out.

11. Pour sugar and citric acid into the jar with apricots.

12. Pour with boiling water.

13. Seal the jar with a can sealer. Check the reliability of the sealing by turning the container upside down.

14. Then place the jar on its side and roll it across the surface, thereby helping the sugar dissolve.

15. After all the crystals have dissolved, wrap the sealed jar in a bath towel. Additionally, you can place everything in a blanket or duvet. Leave the preparation in this state for 10 hours.
