
Herring appetizer
Herring appetizer is very popular. Herring is almost always present on the festive table. However, simply sliced herring is not always convenient when dining at a festive gathering, as one has to pick out the bones from the sliced pieces of herring. Therefore, it is better to prepare small canapé sandwiches made from herring fillet. This delicious herring appetizer is prepared quickly.

- herring - 1 pc. (400 g);
- rye bread - 12 slices;
- butter - 100 g;
- coriander seeds - ½ tbsp.;
- greens - a few sprigs.
Preparation
- Prepare the herring for the appetizer. Cut off the head and make an incision along the belly of the fish. Remove the innards and the black skin from the inner walls of the herring’s belly. Rinse thoroughly with cold water inside the belly. Make a cut along the back of the herring, separating the body into two halves. Then remove the backbone with the rib bones and also take off the skin. Feel the fillet with your fingers and remove any remaining bones if possible.
