
Fried butter mushrooms in a skillet
Butter mushrooms sautéed in butter, especially with onions, are a real treat! This dish has an unrivaled taste. Fried butter mushrooms in a skillet with onions pair especially well with mashed potatoes. This dish is prepared very simply: together with onions, pre-cleaned and boiled butter mushrooms are fried in butter, seasoned with salt and pepper, and after they are browned, served on the table.
Cooking time: 75 minutes.

Ingredients
- 0.5 kg butter mushrooms;
- 1-2 pcs. of onion;
- salt and ground fragrant pepper;
- 100 – 150 g butter.
Preparation
1. To prepare fried butter mushrooms in a skillet, select young, non-wormy butter mushrooms (it is better not to use old mushrooms, as they will fall apart during boiling).

2. Clean the caps of the butter mushrooms, and scrape the legs, slightly trimming the base. Then wash all the mushrooms thoroughly.

3. Cut large butter mushrooms into pieces (so that they fry well), leave small ones whole, then place in a pot, add water (preferably cold) and boil until ready over medium heat (approximately about 20 minutes), seasoning the mushrooms with salt during boiling.

4. Drain the boiled butter mushrooms in a colander, rinse them immediately (preferably several times to remove the mushroom slime) and leave for 15 – 20 minutes (during this time, excess water will drain off).

5. After that, place the boiled mushrooms in a preheated skillet (definitely dry!) and fry, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes to allow excess moisture to evaporate.

6. Next, add butter to the butter mushrooms.

7. Then distribute the onions (previously cut into half rings) on top. Season the butter mushrooms with salt and pepper to taste, and fry for another 10 – 15 minutes, remembering to stir them periodically.

8. When the butter mushrooms are well fried and browned, remove the skillet from the heat. Fried butter mushrooms in a skillet are ready. Place the mushrooms on a plate and serve. A perfect addition to fried butter mushrooms with onions is mashed potatoes or country-style potatoes. Enjoy your meal!
