Potatoes in the skin in the microwave
Very simple dish, potatoes in the skin in the microwave, is prepared quickly and without any hassle. The cooking time, of course, depends on the quantity and size of the tubers, but on average it won’t take more than 12-15 minutes. It's better to choose medium-sized potatoes, as large ones may remain hard inside even after 15 minutes of baking.
No spices, sauces, or seasonings are required for this dish, as it results in a truly rustic potato, like it was baked by the fire, only without the smell of smoke. The only thing that enhances the hot tubers is salt, and in the festive version, a piece of butter and some dill are placed in the broken middle.

Ingredients
- potatoes – 500 g.
Preparation
1. Select potatoes for baking. The tubers should be of roughly the same size and small.

2. Since the potatoes are baked with their skin (in the jacket) and, by the way, can be eaten along with the middle, the root vegetables need to be thoroughly washed using a brush and the rough side of a sponge for washing dishes.

3. Next, the tubers should be densely pierced with a toothpick so that the skin doesn’t burst in the microwave, and they will also bake faster this way.

4. The dish for the microwave should be special or glass, ceramic, clay, but without gilded patterns that will spark in the microwave, which may cause a short circuit. It’s better to cover the potatoes with a lid on top so that they don’t dry out.

5. Set the microwave to maximum power (usually 800 watts). Place the plate with potatoes on the turntable and set the timer for 9 minutes. The readiness can be checked with the same toothpick – it should easily pierce the potato to the middle. If this time is not enough, add 1 more minute.

The prepared potatoes in the skin in the microwave do not require complex side dishes. It is enough to serve them with lightly salted cucumbers of dry salting or herring, or you can simply salt them and enhance with a piece of butter. If the tubers are thoroughly cooled, they can be used for making various salads, but then you will need to remove the skin. The simple rustic style of this dish creates an atmosphere of comfort and warmth in the home.
