1. Rinse 100 to 150 grams of rice under cold running water until the water runs clear.
2. Place the rinsed rice into a pot. Add 2 cups of water and set it over medium heat.
3. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes. You can add salt to taste if desired. Check the rice for doneness. It should be tender when ready.
4. Drain the rice using a colander. Rinse the rice under cold running water. Once all the liquid has drained, transfer the cooked rice to a salad bowl.
