
Cherry strudel made of puff pastry
Perhaps every hostess has found herself in a situation where she needs to prepare a delicious dessert, but there is barely any time for it. Cherry strudel made of puff pastry, which is advisable to keep in the freezer for such occasions, is just the recipe that will save the day.
A thin sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade) wraps around the juicy filling with several turns, the top crust of the strudel glistens golden-brown, and the cut barely holds the cherry filling. It's hard to resist such a treat.

- cherries – 500 g;
- white sugar – 50 g for filling + 20 g for sprinkling;
- almond slices – 30 g. (or any other chopped nuts);
- vanillin – 1 packet;
- starch (preferably corn starch) – 20 g;
- butter (soft, but not melted) – 35 g;
- puff pastry – 500 g;
- egg yolk – 1 piece (for greasing).
Preparation
- Dust the surface for rolling out with flour. Usually, store-bought puff pastry is packaged in squares with sides of 20 cm. You can make 2 small strudels or 1 large one by overlapping 2 sheets. Also dust the dough with flour and roll it out to 2-3 mm, especially pressing down the connecting seam carefully.
- Bake the preparation for half an hour.
After cooling, the pastry will settle slightly. Sprinkle the glossy crust with powdered sugar, cut the cherry strudel made of puff pastry into convenient serving pieces, which are then divided into portions. All that’s left is to enjoy the quickly made dessert to the fullest.
